Book Description
The present work is a translation of one of several sections of Imam Yüsuf al-Nabahani’s acclaimed work on the Prophet’s biography, characteristics and virtues ﷺ, al-Anwar,
al-Muhammadiyyah (The Muhammadan Lights). The author dedicated this section to an exhaustive treatment of the Our’ anic verses that specifically relate to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: his exalted rank and special status, as well as those verses comprising an exhortation to obey him and emulate his sunnah and the proper manners towards him, and dispelling obscurities arising from otherwise ambiguous verses revealed concerning him ﷺ, amongst other such matters.
Imam Yusuf al-Nabahani (d. 1350/1932 was a Shafi “I scholar, judge, Sufi, poet and a prolific author, having penned over fifty works in various Islamic disciplines, such as jurisprudence, theology, hadith, Prophetic biography, heresiology and Sufism. He served as Chief Judge of Jerusalem before being appointed Chief Justice of Beirut, where he remained for approximately twenty years.

- On His taking for him ﷺ covenant with the prophets that they will surely believe in him and aid him
- On His, the Most Highs, describing him ﷺ as a witness and attesting to his messengerhood
- On the previous scriptures, like the Tawräh (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel), alluding to his messengerhood ﷺ
- On the verses wherein He, the Most High, takes an oath to affirm his messengerhood, His verses revealed to him and the loftiness of his rank and status gl (consisting of five sections)
